The theory of evolution has always forced us to compare ourselves to the ways of our primate brother and sisters. However, no one has ever sat them down and taken their pictures. As odd as it sounds, Kenyan born, England based photographer James Mollison has done just that in his compilation titled “James and Other Apes“. Using the aesthetics of the standard passport photo, he captures the in depth profiles of gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans, and it’s quite amazing to look at!
