Everyone loves a new puppy! Man’s best friend, and in some “forever alone” cases Man’s only friend! Amanda Jones is a photographer from Massachusetts who has been capturing portraits of dogs for over 20 years.
Her book Dog Years: Faithful Friends Then & Now consists of the before and after of pictures various breeds from puppyhood to old age. Sadly the book was inspired by her late “Best Friend” Lily (pictured above : 8 mos – 15 yrs), the dachshund who passed during the making of the book.
“Some don’t seem to age at all, yet others show the signs quite openly in their eyes, their jowls, and their gray hair,” Jones told the Daily Mail. “It is this semblance of ourselves and our souls in their eyes that gives us such a deep connection with dogs. One thing that remains constant is the love people and dogs have for each other. That does not change, no matter how many dog years go by.”
