LORDT WHY?!
It's hard to believe that it's ONLY been 15 years that Cielo has been the House Music epicenter of NYC. When I was introduced, upon entry, I was transported to place free or judgement, hatred, or competition. No one cared how you dressed, how much money you had, what your profession was, or where you lived. Dancing, rhythm, LOVE, and understanding were the only objectives.
Unsurprisingly, like most things in my beloved NYC, CIELO IS SHUTTING DOWN =(. The vivid memories of me and my squad rolling in and turning the party up 12 notches are soon to be all I'll have to remember this place by. Well, in addition to all of the AMAZING DOUBLE DISCS they've produced over the years.
To Nicolas Matar, Willie Graff, Louie Vega, Charles Webster and all the other influential Artist, DJ's, and Producers, who've made it through the doors of the little slice of heaven in the Meat Packing District.....THANK YOU!
