With his incoming newborn in mind and productive home studio, artist James Haggerty made the conscious decision to cease his work with paint to avoid any potential complications with toxicity and poisoning. Known for his etching and cityscape style oil paintings, Haggerty took a natural liking to Staples. Not the office supply chain, the actual metal paper binding tool!
The staple is quite similar to an etched line, and by using colored staples, Haggerty is able to add depth and feeling to each piece while, maintaining a healthy household free of toxic fumes.
