Freight Train Hitchhikers

Photographer Mike Brodie‘s subject matter might make him one of the most important photogs of his generation.  Like very few before him, he has been able to capture an important moment in time which highlights the underrepresented youth of America.  These shots, though taken back in 2004 give a glimpse into an almost inevitable reality that’s a lot closer to being ‘right around the corner’ than we think.

In order for photos to have this type of soul, the photographer must be thoroughly immersed in his/her subject matter.  Brodie’s shots of his hungry peers reminded us that he himself was hungry while taking the photo.

All we can do is show gratitude!
