Abandonned Walmart Becomes Largest Single Story Library

Apparently there are a growing number of closed Big Box stores littering the country with useless, empty lots and a growing list of environmental issues.  Enter Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, a Minneapolis based architecture firm with the initiative to transform an abandoned Walmart in McAllen, Texas, into a 124,500-square-foot public library, the largest single-floor public library in the Country! Remove the remaining industrial warehouse ceiling, and you have an immaculately laid out, state of the art Public Library.
